This month's PBIS incentive was paws-itively awesome!  Nearly 70 students, K-5, enjoyed a lunch and slime-making experience with Dr. Gravel and Mr. Cappas.  Totally pawsome!

First Grade Presents "Welcome to the Jungle"

This evening, under the direction of Miss Crater and Mr. Valdivia, GDW First Grade Students showcased their musical talents in a spectacular performance of "Welcome to the Jungle".  We were thankful to have a packed audience, filled with family and friends.  We are so proud of our first graders!

GDW Staff Awarded D300 Foundation for Educational Excellence Innovation Grants

Congratulations to Mrs. Brodie and Mrs. Graham for being awarded District 300 Foundation for Excellence Innovation Grants, totaling nearly $3,000!  Mrs. Brodie was awarded grants to help fund two upcoming projects, which include Calm Down Boxes and Summer Book Buddy Bags.  Mrs. Graham was awarded a grant to assist in the funding of her Raised Planting project.  These amazing GDW educators make us Wildcat proud for their dedication to bringing their innovative visions to our school.  We are thankful for the support of the District 300 Foundation for Excellence and look forward to seeing these innovation grants come to life!

Gary D. Wright Elementary School, Hampshire Elementary School, and Hampshire Middle School Combined Orchestra Concert

Congratulations to Gary D. Wright Elementary School's fifth grade orchestra students, under the direction of Miss Mitchell, on an amazing combined orchestra concert with students from Hampshire Middle School and Hampshire Elementary School!  In addition, GDW fifth grade student, D.J. Fixemer, was chosen to conduct one of the evening's musical selections.  Way to go, Wildcats!

Congratulations, Mrs. Tuttle, Mrs. Skaleski, and Mrs. Socaciu!

On behalf of the Gary D. Wright Elementary School learning community, I would like to congratulate Mrs. Tuttle (Third Grade Teacher) and Mrs. Skaleski (School Nurse) on their recent recognition as GDW's nominees for the D300 Foundation For Educational Excellence Distinguished Educator and School Employee of the Year Awards.  In addition, congratulations to Mrs. Socaciu (GDW and DHES STEM Teacher) on being recognized as Dundee Highlands Elementary School's nominee for the D300 Foundation For Educational Excellence Distinguished Educator of the Year Award.  Mrs. Tuttle, Mrs. Skaleski, and Mrs. Socaciu will be honored at the upcoming Foundation Awards Banquet.  We are so proud of these outstanding women and their dedication to our GDW school community!
