Family Literacy Night

In collaboration with Hampshire High School students and staff, Gary D. Wright Elementary School hosted a Dr. Seuss-themed Family Literacy Night.  The evening included many activities for our Wildcat families to engage in, such as making Oobleck, listening to stories read by guest readers including author Sheri Powrozek, visiting the Book Fair, and taking photos with the Wildcat and Whippur mascots.  A huge thank you to the Hampshire High School Avid students as well as other student and staff volunteers from HHS, the Ella Johnson Library, Sheri Powrozek, and our GDW Staff for all of their efforts in making this evening a tremendous success!

PTO Mother Daughter Pajama Party

Girls just wanna have fun, and this evening's PTO Mother Daughter Pajama Party was a ton of fun!  Our moms and daughters came decked out in their jammies and had a blast making crafts such as bead bracelets, dream catchers, and pillowcases.  The event also included a delicious trail mix buffet as well as a cake walk, raffles, and selfie station!

D300 Relay For Life

Today, our staff participated in the D300 Relay For Life.  This evening was a great way for our District 300 learning community to come together to remember loved ones lost, honor survivors, and provide assistance to the American Cancer Society.  With the tremendous support of our friends, families, and school community, our team raised $5,205, which was donated in support of the American Cancer Society.  Thank you for your support, Wildcats!  #WildcatsMakingADifference
