Fifth Grade Field Trip To Camp Duncan
GDW fifth graders took a field trip to Camp Duncan, where they spent the day engaging in activities that fostered team-building and outdoor education. We would like to thank all of our chaperones for volunteering to spend the day with us. As you can see from the photos below, this trip afforded our students many great experiences that we hope they will have fond memories of for years to come.

Birthday Wishes
A little birdie must have told our Wildcats that my birthday was this weekend. After visiting some classrooms on Friday morning, I received a surprise from Mrs. Graham's class, where they decorated my office door. It was really fun to hear all of the students' guesses as to how old they think I am. Thank you for the birthday wishes!

Wildcat Night At HHS Football Games
To help kick off Wildcat Night at Hampshire High School's football games this evening, HHS football players, cheerleaders, and staff visited Gary D. Wright Elementary school this afternoon! Since we were already outside after practicing our fire drill evacuation procedures, the WHIP-PURS greeted their Wildcat superfans and passed out t-shirts, lanyards, and water bottles. We are so proud of the WHIP-PURS and thankful for their visit as well as the cool swag! Good luck tonight and throughout the season! Go WHIPS!

Welcome Back, Wildcats!
Welcome back to school, Wildcats! It was so awesome to have Matt Wilhelm at Gary D. Wright Elementary School to help us ring in the new year in an epic way! Matt Wilhelm is a BMX Flatland rider who is a three-time X Games Medalist, World Championship Silver Medalist, two-time U.S. National Champion, and Guiness World Record Holder. After winning the America's Got Talent YouTube Competition, Matt advanced to the semi-finals on the show. Matt performed two assemblies on our first day of school, where he taught students important lessons about working hard, doing their best, never giving up, and being someone's hero. He also helped teach our school-wide expectations of being respectful, responsible, and ready. We hope our Wildcats came home after their first day and were excited about our special assembly, the new school year, and the bracelet they received to help sport their Wildcat pride and remind them to be respectful, responsible and ready throughout the year!
