What started with a guided reading group in Mrs. Kann's class where the text was about helping the community, turned into a beautiful partnership between some of the students in Mrs. Kann's class working with GDW's Student Council to organize a food and personal hygiene products drive for the D300 Food Pantry. The students worked collaboratively to create flyers and posters, prepare donation collection boxes, count donated items, and package items for pickup. Thank you to Mrs. Kann, her guided reading group students, Mrs. Ziller, Mrs. Smith, and the Gary D. Wright Elementary School Student Council for your service to our community and to our GDW staff, students, and families for sending in donations! Way to go, Wildcats!

Back by popular demand, Gary D. Wright Elementary School's PTO hosted a Virtual Paint Night featuring guest artist, Mrs. Lupo. Mrs. Lupo guided many Wildcat artists and families through a fun-filled evening where we began with a blank canvas and ended with a floral masterpiece and some very special memories!
