PTO Ice Cream Social

A huge thank you to Gary D. Wright Elementary School’s PTO for organizing and funding our Annual Ice Cream Social, which was a tremendous success!  Over 700 ice cream treats were distributed to our students, staff, and families thanks to the generosity of our PTO!  Thank you, GDW PTO, for providing us with a fun, delicious, and memorable event that has become a cherished tradition!

Make Every Day Count: Boost School Attendance

Each month, the National Association of Elementary School Principals publishes its Report to Parents.  This month's issue of Report to Parents, "Make Every Day Count: Boost School Attendance", cites the link between students with regular attendance and their increased likelihood for academic success.  The article also provides parents with attendance strategies to implement, with the goal of promoting students' success.

Happy First Day of School, GDW!

Gary D. Wright Elementary School has a rich tradition of commemorating the start of each school year with a balloon release.  On Tuesday, August 18, we celebrated our First Day of School for the 2015-2016 academic year with an all-school gathering where we invited our families to join us around our school’s flagpole as we recited the Pledge of Allegiance and Wildcat Creed, followed by each classroom participating in the balloon release sponsored by our tremendously supportive PTO.  Happy First Day of School, GDW!  Here's to the start of a successful year!

All Smiles At GDW's Annual Supply Drop Off Event

On behalf of the Gary D. Wright Elementary School Staff, we would like to thank our families for participating in our annual School Supply Drop Off Events!  In an effort to prepare students for the 2015-2016 school year, GDW welcomed our families to drop off their student's school supplies, locate his/her future classroom, and meet their child's teacher during our Supply Drop Off Events.
